Can A Pregnancy Test Be Negative  after Delayed Menstruation?

Hello, my period is 8 days late. I have taken two home pregnancy tests both negative. I don t understand why they would be negative with my period being missed. I have never missed a period like this before except when I was pregnant with my daughter. My ovulation days would have been the 7th and 10th of November and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 3 times on the 7th and once the morning of the 8th. so im just wondering if you think I could be pregnant or not. I am going nuts not knowing whats going on. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow.

Thanks for writing in.

It is important to do pregnancy test at least 15 days after having sexual intercourse to get an accurate result. If your last pregnancy test was done within 15 days of having sex then please do it again. This will confirm whether you have a pregnancy.

Periods can get delayed due to many reasons including anxiety, medical conditions like polycyctic ovaries, thyroid problems and hormonal imbalances. Therefore if you do not have a positive pregnancy test and periods do not happen then please consult your doctor for a clinical evaluation and examination. Please do not worry.
